Our Story
The story of Salon Persia begins in 1972, when Mario Persia opened a small two-seat barber shop at 308 Thayer Street. For over three decades it served the Providence community with quiet reliability — a neighborhood constant on one of Rhode Island's most vibrant streets.
In July 2004, talented stylist Wassim Chedid acquired the shop, bringing with him a vision for something grander. In January 2005, he closed the doors and began a complete transformation — reopening Salon Persia as an elegant European-style salon with six chairs, two washing stations, a welcoming front desk, and a comfortable waiting area.
Today, under Wassim's guidance alongside stylist Nicholas Zakhia, Salon Persia continues to be a destination for those who appreciate genuine craft, personal attention, and results that speak for themselves.
